SUMMARY:🏹 Archery Permit Course
DESCRIPTION:Fancy learning a new skill and helping to deliver exciting archery activities to young people in Scouting? Join us for a 2-day Archery Permit Course at Leven Scout Hut! \nWhether you’re completely new to archery or have some experience\, this course will teach you the basics of archery\, how to safely set up and run sessions\, and the skills needed to become a Scouts Archery Permit Holder. \nNo previous archery experience is required! Successful completion of the course is expected to lead to you gaining your Scouts Archery Permit\, allowing you to deliver archery activities within Scouting. \n📅 Course Details\n\nDates: Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th December 2026\nTime: 9:00am – 5:00pm each day\nLocation: Leven Scout Hut\nCost: £50 per person\nPlaces: 8 available initially\n\n4 for Beverley & Hornsea Scouts\n4 for Blacktoft Beacon District Scouts\n\n\n\n☕ Refreshments & Overnight Accommodation\nTea\, coffee and some cold drinks will be provided throughout the weekend. \nParticipants must bring their own food\, including lunch and any snacks required for both days. \n🏕️ Fancy staying over and saving the travelling? \nAs the course runs across two days\, we’re exploring the possibility of offering overnight accommodation at Leven Scout Hut on Saturday 5th December\, saving participants the journey home and back again on Sunday morning! \nThis may be subject to an additional charge\, and availability is not yet confirmed. \nIf you’d be interested in staying overnight\, please indicate this on the registration form so we can assess demand and confirm arrangements. \n🎯 Supporting St George’s Day\nWe’re keen to increase the number of volunteers qualified to deliver archery activities at our District events\, particularly our St George’s Day Celebration & Activity Day. \nAs places on the course are limited\, priority may be given to volunteers who are willing and available to help deliver archery activities at St George’s Day. \nPlease indicate your willingness and availability to support the event on the registration form. DESCRIPTION:Sunday 25th April 2027 | Beverley Racecourse \n🎉 A DAY OF ADVENTURE\, FUN AND CELEBRATION! ⚜️ \nGet ready for one of the BIGGEST and BEST Scouting events of the year! \nBeverley and Hornsea District Scouts and Blacktoft Beacon District Scouts are joining forces once again for our fantastic St George’s Activity Day and Celebration 2027! \nHundreds of Squirrels\, Beavers\, Cubs\, Scouts and Explorers will come together at Beverley Racecourse for an action-packed day of activities\, challenges\, adventure and plenty of fun! \n🌟 What’s happening?\nThere’s something for everyone\, with a huge variety of activities and experiences spread across the Racecourse! \nFrom climbing walls\, archery and axe throwing to circus skills\, crafts\, sports\, games and much more\, there will be loads to discover\, try and enjoy throughout the day. \nWhether you’re looking to test your skills\, try something completely new\, take on a challenge or simply have fun with your friends\, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained! \nThe best bit? You get to help choose your adventure! \nYoung people will explore the activity areas with their Group and adult volunteers\, taking part in the activities that interest them\, subject to availability\, suitability and any activity restrictions. There’s no fixed timetable of activities for everyone to follow\, so each young person can enjoy their own experience. \n⚜️ Celebrating St George’s Day\nAfter an exciting day of activities\, everyone will come together for the highlight of the event – our St George’s Day Parade and Celebration Service! \nYoung people and volunteers from both Districts will form up for a fantastic parade into the Racecourse Grandstand\, where we’ll celebrate everything that makes Scouting special. \nWe’ll come together to renew our Scout Promises\, recognise achievements and celebrate the friendships\, adventures and opportunities Scouting brings. \nParents\, guardians\, family and friends are warmly invited to return to the Racecourse to watch the parade and join us for this special celebration. \nIt’s a brilliant opportunity to see hundreds of young people proudly representing their Scout Groups and celebrating Scouting together! \nOne day.
