Westwood ESU

Westwood ESU is based at Cherry Burton Scout Hut. Westwood ESU is a dynamic and adventurous Explorer Scout Unit dedicated to young people aged 14-18. Our mission is to provide young people with the chance to develop new skills, grow in confidence, and take part in exciting activities that promote independence, teamwork, and leadership. Known for our welcoming and enthusiastic spirit, Westwood Explorers encourage every member to unlock their full potential.

What We Do

Westwood ESU engages in a wide range of activities designed to inspire and challenge Explorers, including:

• Outdoor Adventures: From hiking and camping to rock climbing and orienteering, Explorers develop practical outdoor skills while exploring stunning natural landscapes.
• Skill Development: Earn badges in areas such as survival skills, first aid, cooking, and navigation, equipping Explorers with knowledge and practical abilities for life.
• Community Service: We believe in giving back through community service projects that help build a sense of responsibility, empathy, and connection.
• Leadership Opportunities: Explorers can take on leadership roles, helping to plan activities, mentor peers, and develop their organizational and teamwork skills.
