Community Engagement

Beverley and Hornsea Scouts, believe that fostering strong community connections is key to creating a meaningful scouting experience. Our Community Engagement Team is here to support local volunteers in building those connections, helping them engage with their communities in ways that promote inclusivity, service, and positive change.

We provide the guidance, resources, and support to help volunteers collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups. From organizing community service projects to hosting events that bring people together, we equip volunteers with the tools they need to make a real impact.

Our team has been involved in a variety of community-focused initiatives, including:

• Annual Bonfire Event in November, bringing families and Scouts together to celebrate the season.
• Attending school and village shows, showcasing the opportunities scouting offers to young people in the community.
• Holding recruitment events across the District, raising awareness of scouting and attracting new members.
• Supporting the Flemingate Light Switch-On, bringing the community together for a festive occasion.
• Participating in Voluntary and Community Showcases, highlighting the role of Scouts in local volunteerism and community development.

These are just a few examples of how we help our volunteers make scouting a visible and valued part of the community. By supporting these initiatives and encouraging local involvement, we ensure that scouting remains accessible, relevant, and engaged with those we serve.
