2024 have been another amazing year for Beverley and Hornsea Scouts with hundreds of young people experiencing Scouting every week! All thanks to a team of dedicated volunteers! Although 2024 may have had its challenges, we have worked as a team to ensure they do not get in the way of delivering amazing life changing experience.
It is at this time of the year that I like to take the time to stop and reflect on what we have done and where we come from. Our numbers of young people continue to grow with more Squirrels joining the Scouting family, as well as new members joining our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Network.
There have been too many fun, educational and fantastic activities to count from Group Camps, and Nights Away to Activity Days and Workshops – everything we have achieved has made a fundamental difference to those involved.
We seen the launch of the new membership system, as well as a change in the ways of working and role titles. Transformation has been a massive part of 2024 but in Beverley and Hornsea, we have taken it in our stride.
All of the amazing achievements across the District would not be possible without the team of volunteers who work day in day out to ensure Scouts is available across Beverley and Hornsea. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the District Leadership Team, District Trustee Board and all members of District Sub Teams and Group volunteers for their endeavouring hard work.
Looking to 2025, I am sure it will be as amazing as 2024, as we see the volunteering experience and journey develop, with the use of new digital tools, and further see the new volunteering culture embedded into what we do every day.
On behalf of Beverley and Hornsea Scouts I'd like to wish you and your families a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
Many thanks,
Jacob Birch
District Lead Volunteer
