Scouts

Joining Scouts offers a fantastic opportunity for any child aged between ten and a half and fourteen years old, to gain valuable Scouting and life skills while having life changing adventure.

Joining Scouts offers a fantastic opportunity for any child aged between ten and a half and fourteen years old, to gain valuable Scouting and life skills while having life changing adventure. Scouts offers young people the chance to build on the skills learnt from either Cubs or the world around them and apply them to more adventurous projects and programmes.

Any child is able to become a Scout upon reaching their tenth birthday. At the age of fourteen, they can then move onto the next section of Scouting; Explorers.

Scouts offers a wide range of activities suited to the age of the young people, while encouraging them to make friends with the people around them. Scouts generally meet once a week and undertake a variety of active and adventurous games, badge work and other activities.

Scout groups from around the district organise and run specific events for their troop which include camps, hikes, expeditions and exciting days out.

Scouts can also get far more international opportunities by going abroad or going to international Jamborees based in the UK.
