Welcome to the first Programme Team update. The team will use the website to share important information and events and updates.

My new role will be to lead the Programme Team within the District to help sections across the District to run safe, enjoyable and high-quality programmes.

Programme Support Sub Team

As a District we are looking to build a Programme Support Sub Team, so going forward if there is extra support required across the district at a section night or an event, we have a team of volunteers who we can call upon to help out. If any volunteers are interested in joining this new support sub team, please let us know.

Young Leaders

The District Young Leaders team have been busy getting to know what each group's provision is in terms of young leaders. Remember any young person who is a young leader needs to be registered as such by the District Team even if they are not an Explorer Scout.

Remember all Young Leaders need to complete Module A training of the Young Leader Scheme within 3 months. Beth and Mick from the Young Leader team are always on hand for help and advice should you need it.

Young Leader Training weekends run by Humberside County can be found here

District Events

We have some events planned in Beverley and Hornsea and are always looking to put on more activities for our young people and adults. If you would like to see an event happen or to be part of the team putting on District events or have an event idea, please get in touch.

The best way to see what events we have planned is to visit the events section of the website here

Visiting Groups

It has been great to get around to see a number of wonderful young people and volunteers over the last term, to see what brilliant activities have been taking place. The district team are always out and about visiting groups and seeing what our young people are getting involved with. If you would like to see a member of the District Team at your section night or event, please get in touch.

Safe Scouting

Please make sure all activities are fully risk assessed and the risk assessments are up to date to maintain ‘Safe Scouting’ alongside always following ‘Young People First’ guidance. If a member of the District Team attends your session or event, they may ask to see a copy of the risk assessment.

Sharing of information

If anyone or group would like to share anything whether events/ useful contacts etc then please send the information across to me.

Finally, we would like to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers who make scouting in Beverley and Hornsea happen.
