Firstly it is great to see that many groups and sections are getting out and about in this summer term with lots of great activities being run. Just a reminder to remember if meeting away from your regular venue to submit an ‘Activity Information Form’ online.

It has also been good to see some groups working together to run joint activities for some of their sections.

I hope those members of sections that have also gone to County or wider events nationally have enjoyed these activities this last quarter.

Thank-you to you, the leaders for providing and supporting these activities and events which enhances your young peoples experiences in and outside of your groups/ sections.

As we move into the 3rd quarter which includes the summer I hope you and your members have a great time at any activities or events/ camps you are going to. First up is the Sixer/ Seconder camp at Melton the first weekend in July. There is then a County Explorer survival weekend on the weekend of 22nd-24th August and bookings are being taken.

When everyone is back in September we have: -

  • District Beaver challenge team event on 27/09/25 so please share to your parents via OSM or E-mail to get booked on ideally before summer break to give us an idea of numbers of teams so we csn plan more over the summer. Additional bookings can be added beginning of September but we need to know if the event is going to be viable before summer break.

October see’s: -

  • County Scouts DIY badge day at Raywell 4th October followed by Squirrels Go Wild Day on 5th October same venue. Bookings are being taken.
  • Wolds Challenge preparation afternoon for Scouts and Explorers if thinking of entering and need a little support to plan routes etc.
  • District cubs cooking competition at Raywell on 18th October with bookings opening shortly.
  • County run event JOTA/ JOTI at Cherry Garth, Humberston, Nr. Cleethorpes 17th-19th October.
  • County Scarefest next at Alton Towers for Scouts and above age range.

On top of these as a District as you know we are building a water activities team and running taster sessions over the next few months. Not forgetting our Fencing Team if you would like us to run an evenings activities.

May I wish all of you a happy summer and look forward to catching up with some of you over the summer if attending any events/ activities and if not next term. Those that have got camps coming up safe and fun camping.

If anyone would like to join the events team, or are interested in helping the teams at events or water activities going forward and we don’t already know then please do contact us as new team members are always welcome.
