It's that time again to bring you the latest and greatest from the Beverley and Hornsea District Team! We've been hard at work making sure there's a world of adventure waiting for you and our young people, and we can't wait to share it all.

 

DDC Programme – Supporting the delivery of an amazing programme 🌠

Our Program Team Leader, Richard, has been out and about visiting groups and seeing all the activities our young people have been up to. The dedication of our young people and volunteers is nothing short of inspiring. All our young people are on an incredible journey toward top awards and learning skills for life. Richard is your go-to for program advice, always there to guide you through your scouting adventures.

District Bonfire Night - Friday, November 3rd, 2023 🔥

Join us at Raywell Activity Park from 6 pm for an evening of food, drinks, and campfire entertainment. This event is open to everyone, including families and young Scouts. No need for volunteers to attend - just bring your spirit of adventure!

Cubs Cooking Competition - Saturday, November 25th, 2023 🍳

Calling all Cubs in the District! The second annual Cubs Cooking competition will sizzle at Raywell Activity Centre. Teams will whip up delicious meals, competing for culinary glory. It's a tasty way to learn and have fun!

Dive into adventure as our Beavers and Cubs sleep with the fishes! The Deep Sleepover is back with exciting activities, and every participant earns a badge to cherish. Don't miss this favourite! This event is open to all Beavers and Cubs.

As we move towards a new team-based structure, it's crucial that we have Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) and essential training in completed. For those working toward their Wood Badge, we're here to support you on your journey.

Currently, volunteering at Scouts doesn’t always suit how people want to volunteer. They want to volunteer flexibly, by committing the time they have and being part of a team.

• We believe by addressing these issues it will help us to:
• Recruit more volunteers and retain current ones
• Make volunteering at Scouts feel rewarding for everyone
• Consistently and safely deliver a better programme
• Make sure that more young people are gaining skills for life
